Novitiate

Deepening the call — formation in the Franciscan way

Novices

What is the Novitiate?

The Novitiate is the canonical year of formation that follows postulancy. It is a decisive period of spiritual, theological, and apostolic formation in which the novice more fully discerns her vocation and prepares to make her first religious vows.

During this time, the novice is guided by the Novice Mistress and the community, deepening her understanding of Franciscan charism, the evangelical counsels, and the life and mission of the congregation.

“May God grant them the Grace of Final Perseverance.”
