Postulancy
The first step on the path of consecrated life
What is Postulancy?
Postulancy is the initial stage of religious formation in which a young woman discerns her call to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. During this period, she lives in community, participates in the congregation's prayer life, and receives formation in Franciscan spirituality and values.
The postulant is accompanied by a formation director and the community as she seeks to understand God's will for her life. This phase typically lasts six months to one year, depending on the individual and the needs of the congregation.
